Instructions for Color or B&W Word Document Postcard

STEP 1
Download the appropriate files by right-mouse-clicking on each link, choosing "Save file/target as ...", navigating to the folder you are saving to and clicking "Save."

STEP 2
Customize the postcard. Text areas that can be customized with your specific course information are noted in brackets (e.g."[INSERT COURSE DATE]).

If you are working with a print shop, save all the files on a CD, zip disk (or two 3 1/2" diskettes) and let them know what information needs to be added and where. Tip: Check with your printer to see if they can download the files from the Web site directly.

STEP 3
Choose a heavier paper stock. USPS regulations require postcards to be between 0.007 inch and 0.016 inch thick.

Set your file print properties to "landscape" and print page 1 of the postcard. Print page 2 on the reverse, making sure you feed the paper in the correct orientation so that the top of the postcard will be facing the same direction. (This will vary depending on your printer.)

STEP 4
Crop each side of the brochure by cutting along the lines indicated by the scissors. Final size will be 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches.

STEP 5
Address and mail the postcard. Postage for the oversized postcard will be at the regular letter rate ($0.41). Check with the USPS for bulk mail rates.
